About Piercing Pagoda

In 1969, with the ear piercing trend on the rise, jewelry store owners Bernard and Bertha Cohen used the opportunity to open the very first Piercing Pagoda kiosk in the Whitehall Mall in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Their venture was an immediate success, as women looking for a convenient way to have their ears pierced would come to the kiosk from up to 100 miles away. Building upon this accomplishment, the Cohen's used their core ear piercing service to expand into gold and sterling silver fashion jewelry.
