Best Builds for Adults

Yes, kids love lego sets – but the coolest ones are made for adults. These are the best adult lego sets around. With amazing detail and charm, you’ll want each and every one.

The Best Lego Sets for Adults

Technically, any lego set can be an “adult” lego set. What sets these apart is their complexity, creativity, and attention to detail. Building most of these is quite an endeavor, but one with a great pay-out.

If you have the patience (and often the cash since a lot of these are quite expensive) then you’ll certainly be rewarded.

Star Wars A-Wing Fighter

Now, Star Wars lego’s have been a staple for a long time. There are a lot of cool fighters and a lot of them deserve to be on this list – but we decided to feature just one, the A-wing.

The A-wing is one of the newest large-scale starfighters. We love it because it’s sleek, sexy, and a bit unique – helping it stand out considerably from the traditional Tie Fighters or Millennium Falcon.

007 Aston Martin DB5

The most popular Bond car in the 007 series. The Aston Martin DB5 was first featured in Goldfinger with Sean Connery but has also appeared in Thunderball, GoldenEye, 2006’s Casino Royale, Skyfall, and more.

Not only does lego do an amazing job at creating a highly detailed DB5, but they also included an actual working ejector seat. That’s just cool.

Lego Architecture Sets

$49.99 - $99.99

Lego architecture sets have been bringing iconic skylines into your home for a few years now. London, Paris, Hong Kong, New York, and San Francisco are just a few of the sets available to you.

They’re highly desired amongst adults and adult gift-givers alike because they offer a clean and elegant look on a shelf or in an office for a price point that won’t break the bank.

International Space Station

The International Space Station in lego is actually quite a simple set that still maintains a lot of “wow” power.

If you’re a fan of space (and who isn’t) then this set is great. It comes with a nice display stand, a mini space shuttle, and a mini satellite that helps propel this set out of this world.

Roman Colosseum

This set is no joke. It’s currently the largest lego set available containing an outstanding 9,036 pieces and sporting a large price tag to boot.

But it is one of the coolest premium lego sets ever offered. If you’re looking for a series set-piece and a serious challenge, then this is it.

Nintendo Entertainment System

Those who grew up playing the original NES, or those that simply are Nintendo fans will certainly adore this set.

This one in particular is packed full of detail and amazingly creative features. The game cartridge, controller, console, and tv display itself are shockingly realistic, but Lego took this a step further by making the game on the tv actually interactive.

Plus there’s a little easter egg embedded in the back of the console you’re going to need to build to see.

Lego Volkswagen Camper Van

Not as sleek or sporty as 007’s Aston Martin, yet the Volkswagen Van more than makes up for it with charm, details, and own brand of nostalgia.

While it’s certainly rocking that instantly recognizable van look, there’s so much more going on in this lego set than what’s on the outside.

The entire interior is filled in with incredible detail, the doors and windows move, there’s a working pop-top, and the trunk contains a slew of spare parts. A lot of love went into making this set and it shows.

Apollo Saturn V Rocket

This is the rocket that took Neil Armstrong to the moon and propelled America to the front of the space race.

For decades, it remained a symbol of American ingenuity and potential – and this lego set certainly does it justice. It’s 36 inches tall and contains a mini lunar lander and a landing capsule.

If you’re a fan of space (or just Tom Hanks movies) this set is an absolute must.

Lego Go Brick Me

A fun kit that gives you the power to create yourself or your family and friends in lego form. Each box contains enough bricks to create just about anyone.

While the box says 10+, really adults will be able to make the most out of it. That’s because there’s not really any instructions. You’re going to have to use your own creativity to build the person you want.

Also, this kit was discontinued by lego which is a shame. However, you can still find it at several retailers plus ebay has quite a few too.

Taj Mahal

Another famous landmark was given a unique lego touch. The Taj Mahal is one cool looking set.

It’s also quite challenging. It contains 5,923 pieces making it one of the largest around. If you manage to take up this feat, however, you will be rewarded with one of the most gorgeous lego buildings to look at.
